Tom Donohue's interview suggests he is a strong supporter of education as a critical vehicle to adapting to the global economy. Unfortunately the politics and policies of his organization would often suggest just the opposite. Firmly supportive of the current Republican President and Administration, he failed to acknowledge that cuts in educational funding and poor relations with the educators across the country have made things much worse than they need to be.
It is nice to be a good diplomat, but Donohue and his organization have not been leaders in supporting education in the political and policy domains.
