I would argue that group work should be emphasized more as it helps students refine skills for small-team collaboration, which is what usually happens in the real world. I believe a key is having groups small enough that everyone must contribute. Individual assessment could be a combination of individual exams and more importantly peer review. Real leaders/performers will make a lasting impression on their peers.

I believe that techniques/technology which encourage participation and personal development such as blogs are important. It seems that advanced education is about individuals developing their own philosophies and industry position in addition to traditional learning.

Networking is one of the top reasons I chose to study management education. To me it is important that the format of the programme encourages establishing long-term relationships with fellow students and alumni; especially in a distance programme.
